In the Classics major, students begin their studies with required courses in Greek Civilization and Roman Civilization. As their studies continue, they achieve advanced reading proficiency in one ancient language and take electives in mythology, ancient history, art and archaeology, and ancient literature in translation. A broad program in ancient civilization which studies the history, languages, literature, philosophy, art, religion, and daily life of the ancient Mediterranean world as seen through texts and artifacts. 120 credits of coursework is required for the baccalaureate degree with a minimum 2.0 overall GPA, and a minimum 2.0 major GPA.
